When will fall temperatures arrive?
Last week I went to the Marshall football home opener against Purdue. The heat was unbearable with temperatures reaching into the 90’s.The only break we received was when a cloud came by to block the sun. I was on the weather channel and they had an article about fall temperatures. Meteorological fall begins Sept. 1 and the autumnal equinox, which marks the astronomical start to fall, occurs Sept. 23. Your location within the county will effect when cooler temperatures arrive. New York will see a temperature drop by September 20 and our area will notice it by September 25. The average low during these time is 50 degrees, which mean you might want to get your fall clothing out.

  1. It's sad to think temperatures will be falling so suddenly so soon. Even worse, it won't be long til Autumn is over and Winter is upon us.

  3. I was at the Marshall opener last week too, and I agree that it was HOT! Tonight it's supposed to get down to 51 degrees, but it looks like summer temperatures will arrive again in time for next weekend with highs near 88 degrees.

  4. It looks like we got a taste of fall this weekend, and hopefully the rain brought some relief to the allergy sufferers out there.

  5. We've had warm weather like this into September and October before. I can remember going to Fear Fest at King's Island in shorts on Nov. 1 back in the early 2000's. I also remember as a kid going to the Marshall games over at the old stadium and burning up in the beginning of the season to freezing by the end. I know I was always whining about the weather.
