Wildfires in California

Wildfires in California continue to destroy tens of thousands of acres. Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for some communities, and a state of emergency has been declared for Lake and Napa counties. Hot, dry weather will be replaced by a drop in temperatures in the next few days and will bring a chance of rain showers.

  1. Fire has been a part of the ecology of that area for many years. Combine that with the longest drought in recorded history and you have conditions for records in the number of fires and the losses associated with them.

  2. Saw this on the news this morning. It has gotten so bad that the state of California is on a state of emergency. That puts it in perspective of how bad it is over there.
